Happy 9th Birthday, Big Sis!

Thursday was Big Sis’ 9th birthday. Not exactly sure where the time went but it did and now I have a 9 year old on my hands. She isn’t a little baby any more, though I sometimes long for those days when I could just rock her in my arms. They do go by quickly. So here’s a Happy Birthday Lunch for you, my sweet girl!

Big Sis had the good fortune of having a birthday during track out (they go to a year-round school) and she loves that. I asked her in the morning if she wanted to go out to breakfast or if she wanted me to make her Mama’s Coffee Cake and got a resounding YES (with jumping up and down) for the coffee cake. Little Sis was pretty excited, too.

14 days to 9 years – they do go by quickly.

Breakfast was, followed up, of course, by a homemade lunch for the birthday girl served in our makeshift restaurant/sunroom/playroom! Her Little Sis got to join her too, and did puzzles while waiting for me to make it, take pictures of it (haha) and serve it up with her drink of choice: Blue Raspberry Koolaid drink pouch – eek.

In this lunch:

  1. PB&J Uncrustables with Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat Bread using the new Nordic Ware Pocket Pie Heart Crimper I got from Target
  2. Canned Delmonte Carrots
  3. Fuji Apple Slices
  4. EatSmart Snyders of Handover Naturals Garden Veggie Sticks
  5. Rice Krispy Treat frosted with vanilla icing

The rest of her day was filled with present opening, playing American Girls and Bitty Babies with her little sis, a trip to the park, lots of smooches from Mommy and a dinner out to a restaurant of her choosing (Backyard Bistro) where we loaded up on yummy but greasy foods that gave us tummy aches later. Oh well.

Love you so much, my big girl! But no matter how big or old you get, you’ll always be my baby.

Um, no. That is NOT what I hand intended for my new end table to be used for! I guess that’s what I get for letting it sit idle for one whole day? lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, Facebook or Instagram. The more the merrier, of course!
