Sandwiches on a Stick

We headed downtown to pick up some "America's Got Talent" tickets yesterday (don't want to give Ticketmaster any more of our money than we have to) and when in downtown, just gotta stop by the Krispy Kreme bakery where you can actually watch the glazed donuts being made. So of course, that meant they needed to eat a healthy lunch beforehand which resulted in my making them this to eat in the car. (Please note: the girls were instructed to take the sandwiches OFF the skewer before eating! And therefore no children were harmed in the eating of this lunch!) :)

When I told 'em I was making sandwiches, they both grumbled and whined a bit "I don't want a sandwich, Mommy! I'm tired of them!" but when I SHOWED them the sandwiches, they both changed their tune REAL fast. Funny what a difference adding "on a stick" to the end of food can make. Thank goodness for my new extra-long picks! A million thanks to Anna of Becoming A Bentoholic for this ever-so-sweet-and-awesome gift!

I love this idea. Where can I get the skewers from?

happyvballgirl said...

Thanks Candice! My friend Anna (above) sent these to me but she said got hers from a cake decorating supplies shop. She also passed along this website that only has the heart available:

http://www.cakearts.com/search.asp?keyword=Pixstix&search=GO

I've seen them on Amazon as well, but after shipping, they are rather ridiculoulsy priced:
http://www.amazon.com/Dress-My-Cupcake-DMC41PIX-905-Decorative/dp/B00CTMWKMI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1377830956&sr=8-5&keywords=heart+cupcake+picks

Sorry I can't help more than that! Good luck and thanks so much for stopping by! :)
