Happy Birthday Lunch for Little Sis!

Today is Little Sis’ day – which of course means she gets a birthday lunch – YAY!Today also just happens to be one those days where I feel like I am NOT on my “A” game. Not even close. Try maybe C- game. Actually, it’s been like that for well over a week (at least!). I chalk it up to post- holiday burnout, but I just feel like I’m spinning my wheels, expending all sorts of time and energy without getting a whole lot done. Like, today for instance…

I signed up to go in for “lunch bunch” where Little Sis gets to have lunch with me in the classroom along with 3 friends of her choosing while I read books to them. Perfect! I decided to hand-deliver her birthday lunch so the letters would make it to lunch intact since she doesn’t use one of those lunch bags that keep her lunch upright. But it would have been really nice if I had actually remembered to take her lunch w/ me to school! DOH! Luckily, I realized only half way to school and had enough time to drive back to get it. Whew.

Funny thing was, after all that, Little Sis barely ate any of it, even though it was her lunch of choice! I suppose it had something to do with the fact that her Daddy took her and Big Sis out for breakfast at Bruegger’s before school where she scarfed down an entire breakfast bagel sandwich. Like mother like daughter. ♥

I had fun reading to the kids: The Happy Egg, If You Give a Pig A Party, Here’s to You and On the Night You Were Born. They really enjoyed all the books except the last one, which was the “special” one I picked out in honor of Little Sis’ birthday. LOL. I guess it was just too slow for those active kindergarteners. Plus, they kept saying the pictures were kinda weird and creepy. Well alrighty, then! : )

I won’t go into any more detail about how I piddled the rest of the day away trying to be productive but not really accomplishing much in the end, aside from (barely) figuring out what to get for Little Sis on her birthday. That’s just what happens, though, when your birthday falls a week into the new year. You poor holiday babies – haha!! I’m REALLY hoping next week will be better!

Happy Birthday Lunch

In this lunch:

  1. Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Rounds
  2. Bertolli’s Organic Olive Oil, Basil and Garlic Spaghetti Sauce
  3. Sargento’s Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  4. Letters cut from Applegate Naturals American Cheese slices
  5. Red Seedless Grapes
  6. Mini Birthday Cupcake
Happy Birthday Lunch

Little Sis really liked the grape with the birthday hat pick. It was her favorite. I can’t believe this little thing is 6. Love you, sweet Little Sis!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, on Facebook or on Instagram. The more the merrier!
