This Post Stomach Bug Lunch was made for Big Sis on her recovery day.

Poor little Big Sis was out sick yesterday recovering from what was luckily a mild bout of some sort of stomach bug the night before. Luckily, the first time she got the bucket but the second time, we weren’t as lucky. Oh well, better than missing twice! That is why these buckets we get from strawberry picking have become a permanent fixture in our house and car – because you just never know when you’ll need it. Ok, I really shouldn’t post a picture of the bucket, especially for a lunch post, but I just couldn’t help myself. And don’t worry – it’s been cleaned and sanitized.

To be funny, I posted this picture on FB and asked people to guess what this bucket was good for besides strawberry picking and holding crayons. These are the quoted answers that people came up with:

  1. Throwing them out, hoarder? (Haha! I am not a hoarder! Well, mostly…)
  2. Bucket list (LOL)
  3. Collecting worms for fishing, planting seedlings, candy bowl, carrying water to wash floors, temporary toy container for tidying up, strawberry knight helmet…
  4. Snack caddy for the pantry
  5. Blood (Ewwww!)
  6. Just about the right size for ice cream… just sayin…
  7. We have one we use as a popcorn bowl. Easily holds 2 or 3 BAGS of popcorn that the 2 of us share during a movie. Helps with the moderation.
  8. and I added: Taking on camping trips to take care of biz in the middle of the night so you don’t have to leave the coziness of your tent to creep through the spooky dark forest in the middle of the night.
ANYWAY, I digress… Big Sis’ day of recovery pretty much entailed laying around watching lots of TV, finishing up some homework and several games of Guess Who while nibbling a little bit of this and that throughout the day. Though she was hungry for pizza last night, we told her she needed to take it slow, so this is her ease back into food.

So here’s her Post Stomach Bug Lunch at school today:

Post Stomach Bug Lunch

In this lunch:
  1. Nabisco Premium Whole Grain w/ Sea Salt Saltine Crackers
  2. Applegate Naturals American Cheese
  3. Applegate Naturals Black Forest Ham
  4. Utz Preztels
  5. Trader Joe’s Blueberry Yogurt
  6. Trader Joe’s Gummy Bears

We are in “Brace Ourselves” mode right now to see if Little Sis will succumb too, but so far it’s lookin’ pretty good. And for all we know, she’s the one that started it off anyway with her recent bouts of tummy aches. Wish us luck and hope YOU stay healthy out there!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, on Facebook or on Instagram. The more the merrier!

Thanks Rina! Me too! Couldn't tell by looking at her now that she was even sick. KIDS! I'm sure if it were me, it would've taken me down for the count for at least a week. 🙂
