Light Lunch and a Hockey Game

The girls have been asking me to make some Mama’s Coffee Cake so today, I obliged them. But our schedule’s been kind of slack with them being tracked out from school, so I made it just as they were finishing up breakfast at 10:30am. Big Sis didn’t wake up until almost 9:30am and Little Sis had to be coaxed out bed at nearly 10! Oopsie! Looks like it might be a late night for them tonight, but luckily I won’t have to deal with it since my hubby insisted I go out to tonight’s hockey game with my friend. Thanks, Sweetie and SORRY! Big Sis will most likely still be up which means I definitely need to stay out for beers afterwards, wink, wink. So today’s post is a Light Lunch and a Hockey Game!

Mama's Coffee Cake

Anyway, with pending soccer camp at 1pm and a late breakfast, we just barely snuck in a quick, easy and light lunch, with coffee cake on the side!

Light Lunch and a Hockey Game

In this lunch:

  1. Cut organic carrots and ranch dressing
  2. Chapions Chobani Squeezable Yogurt for Big Sis and Trader Joe’s Organic Vanilla for Litle Sis
  3. Keebler Townhouse Flat Crisps with Sea Salt and Applegate American Cheese
  4. Mama’s Coffee Cake

This is a pic I took the last time I went to a hockey game with my buddy Cindy in January, whom I’ve known since the 4th grade and lived right down the street from me in MD. How cool we both ended up in the same NC city!

Maybe we’ll actually win a game tonight – GO CANES! and thanks sweetie!! ♥

I’m baaaaack!!

Here’s a new pic me and Cindy:

And of course our food. I’m just as bad as when my girls go, ie spend too much money on food and treats, but that’s just part of the fun, right? 🙂 And even though we got to the arena 30-mins pregame, we ended up getting down to our seats late because we were too busy seeking out our goodies.

Beer, Bacon Cheeseburger topped with a PERFECT bun and two GiGi’s Cupcakes (to share).

Here’s a must-have closeup on the cupcakes, even though the chocolate one was hard to capture.

As luck would have it, I just HAPPENED to have seats right next to some of our closest buddies – we had no idea the other was even gonna be there! SWEET! So Cindy took a pic of us, but first we had to wait for a “stoppage in play” so I thought I’d show you how into the game I was.

Thank goodness, a stoppage in play, FINALLY!

It was rather crazy night because not only did I run into these guys, I ran into four others I knew. That doesn’t include seeing our family doctor in the row behind us. Apparently, it was THE place to be tonight!

And guess what?!?!? We WON!! And in a shoot-out no less! We NEVER win shoot-outs – WOO HOO!

GO CANES!

Oh and I’m happy to report that the girls had a good night with Daddy. I even got to say good night to Big Sis who was nearly asleep. Little Sis was out cold. Good night and sweet dreams!

Thanks so much for stopping by to read about our Light Lunch and a Hockey Game! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, Facebook or Instagram. The more the merrier, of course!
