Happy Bento! Lunches on the Go Book Giveaway! ends 9/3/2015
My bento-blogging friend Anna of Becoming a Bentoholic has just come out with a “how-to-bento” book. Of course, I was super happy to review “Happy Bento! Lunches on the Go” here. I am so excited for you, Anna! The adorable little book (it’s 6″x 6″ in size) really packs a punch and gives you so many fun, healthy and delicious lunch-packing ideas. Not only that, it’s filled with lots and lots of additional info on:
  • bento tools – the whats and hows on using them
  • clever tutorials on how to create cute fun food your kids are sure to love
  • helpful tips on packing food, like my favorite: how to keep thermos foods extra warm
  • a variety of really cool lunch boxes available out there
  • and even the surprising and not-so-surprising places you can purchase bento items
The book is fun and easy to flip through, young and old, especially since it easily fits in your hand. My girls and I decided to make the Mini Pizzas lunch from page 16. I hadn’t used my LunchBots Cinco in ages and I just happened to have all the ingredients on-hand, so making this lunch was certainly a no-brainer! Super easy, super healthy, fun and delicious – what more could you ask for?! All of the lunches in this book are way cuter than the lunches I usually make on a daily basis, so it was refreshing to try something new and fun. I just couldn’t resist adding the cute Super Mario Brothers mushrooms Anna shows us how to make on page 73, especially since Little Sis just LOOOOVVVES tomatoes and mozzarella. What a fun twist!
I showed Little Sis her lunch this morning and she was thrilled about it. Just loved to see that huge smile on her face when she opened her lunch. I don’t normally get to see that part, so now my day has been made. 🙂 She wanted to see the page in the book to compare and gave my work a big thumbs up, though she did note that I forgot to add in the cheese circles to the mushroom tops. lol. Whoopsie! Sorry girl.

When she got home from school today, I asked her how lunch was. Her eyes immediately opened wide and she told me it DELICIOUS!! but that it wasn’t enough.  Next time she wants MORE! Lol. Well, I’ll say that was a hit! Yay!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to make my day by leaving me a comment, following my blog via email, on Facebook or on Instagram. The more the merrier! Christine, aka happyvballgirl 🙂 To check out items used in this post or some of my favorites, simply click here: “Products I Love“. Purchases made using these links earns me a little extra cash to support my bento habit, which Hubby really appreciates. Haha! So, THANK YOU, should you choose to purchase any of ’em!
