Cottage Cheese Lunch for Me

I'm happy to announce my new tolerance, maybe even 'like' for cottage cheese. Even as recently as last year, my dear dad offered me some of his cottage cheese to which I crinkled up my nose and snottily replied, "Ewwwww!" (Yes, kids can even be snotty at 41.) :) Then one day, my friend Nancy offered some topped with crushed canned pineapples as a snack to Little Sis who said "MMMMM!" after the first bite but then didn't want any more - LOL! I guess she didn't really like it then, huh? Not wanting to let perfectly good food go to waste, I decided to give the ol' cottage cheese another try. And guess what?!?! It was not disgusting like I always remembered it! It was actually pretty good, especially w/ that pineapple! Now I'm a regular eater of cottage cheese, but I can only eat it w/ lots of fruit on top - the canned pineapple w/ some juice is definitely a winner. Not too shabby, right? But I do have to use a small spoon because bigger spoonfuls of it have still been known to induce my gag reflex, but whatever, right? Yay for me! :)

Below, I topped it with applesauce after my seriously talented bento blogging friend Venia over at Organized Bites suggested it one day. Mmmmm, a most acceptable and tasty suggestion! Thanks Venia! :) Be sure to check out her page - she has some gorgeous lunches over there, but promise to come back and not ditch me for good! :)

So here's my breakfast, lunch, snack, whatever, I'm hungry! :)

You've got me blushing and hungry! Thanks so much for the shout-out, you're so sweet. Now try a little milk and cinnamon on top of a bowl of plain applesauce. Yum! ;)
