Snickerdoodles Made Healthier

Ingredients

Cookie dough

  • 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cup white flour
  • 2 Tbsp ground flax seed
  • 2 Tbsp wheat germ
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Topping

  • 3 Tbsp white sugar
  • 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In a large bowl or mixer, cream butter and sugars together and then mix in eggs and vanilla.

  3. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture until combined.

  4. Chill dough about 20 mins in the fridge.

  5. Mix 3 Tbsp sugar and 3 Tbsp cinnamon together in small bowl.

  6. Scoop 1.5 inch balls of chilled dough and roll them into sugar/cinnamon mixture. Gently press dough down a little with thumb for PERFECT cookies!

  7. Bake 10-12 mins. Cool on wire racks.
