I NEED Kidecals In My Life!

Disclosure: I was provided free product in exchange for a review. The opinions expressed here about the products are solely my own.

When Kidecals approached me about trying out their labels recently and I was really excited about giving them a try. I checked out their website and chose this set of labels for my family's needs.

Not only are these labels just adorable, I was able to include just the right amount of info on it (Last name, email address and cell phone - I think that covered all the bases!) and they are:

  • Waterproof
  • Laundry-safe
  • Microwavable
  • Dishwasher-safe
  • BPA-Free
These labels are a must-have in my life for 3 main reasons:

Both girls play competitive soccer for the same club which means they have the exact same warm up pants and jacket as about 100 other kids at any given practice. Somethings are bound to get mixed up or left behind on occasion, and when they do, I want 'em back because they certainly ain't cheap!

With 10 different soccer practices (2 outdoor clubs, middle school team and indoor) between Big Sis and Little Sis during the school week, 2-5 soccer games on the weekends and school, a water bottle is bound to get left behind on occasion, and when it does, I want it back because they certainly ain't cheap!

And here's reason #3: Now that big Sis is in 7th grade, she apparently needs a fancy graphing calculator. It disturbs me to know that she'll be in sole charge of taking it back and forth to school every day and staying on top if it. So guess what? It gets a label, too. On it and on the case and maybe another on on the calculator! This thing is bound to get left behind on occasion, and when it does, I want it back because it certainly ain't cheap!

These labels have been working great! They are super sticky and really stay on whatever surface you put them on. No worries about them coming off! They are clear and easy to read AND just like the they claim, they stick on through washes in the laundry and dishwasher. I have yet to microwave any of the items I've put them on and hope to stay in sound mind and body and never test that part out. Oh, and they are definitely waterproof. :)

So the next time you have something you paid a lot of money for and you really don't want to lose it, but you think it will, you should get these labels, too. You NEED these labels!!

Pumpkin Scones

It's October and with the smell of fall finally in the air, I felt like baking some pumpkin scones for a friend who was coming over for coffee one morning. Gabbing with a friend over coffee and pumpkin scones... what better way to start the day? :)

Found this delicious recipe Starbucks Pumpkin Scones from Food.com. To healthify these, I added 2 Tablespoons of ground flaxseed and 2 Tablespoons of wheat germ, replaced 1/4 cup of while flour with whole wheat flour, upped the butter to 8 Tbsp, half and half to 5 Tbsp  and called it a day. lol. I used the regular icing recipe because for me, there is such a thing as too much pumpkin spice. :) For the traditional crispier, crunchier scones, be sure to bake it longer than the recipe calls for (like 20 minutes or so?) but be sure to keep a close eye on it since you don't want it to burn. For a softer, more muffin like texture, bake it as the recipe states.

Once out of the oven and cooled, drizzle w/ your icing of choice. Simple as that! Enjoy!

These things are great right out of the oven or reheated in a toaster oven. Simply place on a parchment paper on a cookie sheet and bake at 250 for about 7-10 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye on them so they don't crisp up too much.
